That's great. Welcome to HondaSXS. Try to find someone local to ride with. It always safe to ride with others if you're far from civilization. Also, you'll learn quickly.

Thanks! I know there is lots to learn. Question for you; i have a 14foot flat bed trailer with ramps that i want to use for the 700-4. It has stake pockets, but no tie down D rings. In trying to decide what to get( D rings & straps) to tie it down i am getting confused. What working load strength do i need to hold it safely on the trailer? I know that four straps are recommended, but also not sure where to position the 700-4 on the trailer. All the way forward?, over the dual axels? Need to figure these things out before buying the hardware to tie it down with. Want to get on the road with it. I have some very heavy duty straps (2) that i used to get it home, but dont think just the two are enough to do the trick.
Thanks!

@Bboper70 are your stake pockets steel? and this link should help! if you have questions about the link PM me. glad to help!//hondasxs.com/resources/loadmaster-help.105/

Bobbyhill, thanks for the info. I am seeing a lot of wheel net applications and recommendations. Based on your formulas, they provide very little or no lateral support. Is this correct? I see lots of cars tied down this way. Trying to come up with a solution that does not require compressing the springs/shocks on the machine. I understand also that 60% of the weight of the vehicle should be forward of the trailer wheels in order to balance the load and not cause trailer sway. Correct? Stake pockets are steel.
Thanks again.

I don't use the wheel nets so I could not tell you their effectiveness. Yes pull about 60% forward of the Trailer wheels. I would use the Stake pockets for tie down points but if you are going to use the wheel nets they may not reach the pockets.

Thanks. I have been looking at etrack strips. Thinking about putting a 5' strip beginning at the front, then skipping two or three feet and putting an additional 5' strip there. That should give room for tying down and allow some wiggle room to move it if needed. Would add a couple of backing plates on the underside of the etrack to all four etrack pieces for additional strength. Thats about the only way i can see to give wiggle room on where the machine is tied down. I guess longer straps could do the sme thing though. I might be looking at over kill here. The trailer is 14' long and 7' wide with dual axels, one with a brake.

I think Joe just changed my mind about wheel nets! Thats why i have been asking. Thanks. Looks like i will be compressing with the tie downs.
