hey all - when it comes to electrical i seem to have a mental block. i bought this light bar and got it mounted on the SxS (2021 1000-5 LE). the machine came with honda's 12" light bar and accessory fuse box, but i can't make any sense of how to properly wire this thing. I think i need to put the red and black terminals of the wiring harness directly onto the battery, but not sure how to pull switch power for the relay - i.e. can i plug that in somewhere to the honda accessory box? also i bought a backlit rocker switch to use in place of the cheapo that came on the wiring harness, so add that complexity into the mix.

UGH i know it's simple but i'm stuck! spent the past two days searching threads and youtube videos but still don't have a clear picture in my head.

please help!

The big red and black need to go direct to the battery.

For the switch. It may be 3 wires. Red, white, and black.

The red is the power.
White is the relay control.
Black ground

It will work currently hooked up.

But if you want to move it to a key-on source we need to do the following.
- remove the red wire from the switch and tape it off good as it is a constant hot.
- find a key-on source and run it to the where the red wire was.
Now your relay is only controlled via key-on power.

Thank you, that helps tremendously! I did want to wire it to key on since the switch is backlit. Can anyone recommend an “easy” source to tie into? Somewhere in the factory accessory fuse box maybe?

Yes - an easy, key on power source is to tap into the output side wire under the ACC fuse.
Some people splice, others use a Posi-tap.

Another option is a plug and play wiring harness that plugs into the back of the cigarette lighter you can purchase thru the sxs club store, it worked great for me

Looking in here, anyone have experience tapping into that? Don’t want to break anything but seems like i need to pull the whole fuse box out?

If I remember right, there are assembly retainer clips that let you pull the whole thing out a few inches.
It was enough that I could put on the Posi-tap without pulling things apart.

I personally would not run it without a duel battery set up mine is hard on the second battery set up if your not moving or going slow though the woods and from what i understand the transmission needs full power.
