I'm probably in a different category than most of you in that my 1000-5 LE is a work rig, not used for recreation. I'm the RF Engineer for a TV station in Oregon so I'm responsible for maintaining transmitters and microwave radio systems at our main transmitter site as well as mountain top sites throughout the western half of Oregon. We have sites anywhere from just above sea level to 6000' above sea level so you can imagine the snow I might have to deal with. For those trips in the snow, I installed tracks, a fully enclosed cab, and a heater. I added a large driving light on the front, interior lights and back and side lights on the rear. I had to build custom mounts so I could have outside rear view mirrors. The heavy duty front bumper and 4500 lb winch is for recovery if needed and I hope that is just used for pulling out someone else.

As you can see, the SxS is hauled to remote sites by our RAM 2500 work truck sporting the Cummins diesel, customized ARE contractor canopy, Warn 15K winch on a Warn bumper and towing a 10K tandem axle flatbed trailer. I included a pic under the hood to show the extensive wiring mods I did to accommodate the 2nd battery, lights, heater and winch. I even included USB outlets inside for convenience. The final picture shows the SxS where it normally lives in the Connex box at our main transmitter site. The box is wired with LED lights, a heater to keep the moisture down and outlets for 2 Battery Tenders. This summer, I have also used this rig to haul a spray tank around the main transmitter site for weed control. It sure beats a backpack sprayer and hiking up and down the hills to the guy anchors.

Here is a list of the mods:
Enclosed cab - Alumilite Armor with optional glass windows, windshield wiper and roof rack
Tracks - Kimpex Commander WSS4
Heater - Inferno
Rear Bumper - EMP
Front Bumper - Bad Dawg
Winch - Warn VXR 45-S with synthetic rope
Auxiliary Battery - Odyssey PC925
Switches - otrattw.com
Molex connectors - Mouser Electronics
Driving Light - Rough Country 72930BL 30" dual row
Rear & Side Lights - Rough Country 70133BL 2" cube
Interior Lights - Kohee
Outside Rearview Mirrors - KEMIMOTO

All the mods were done by yours truly with a bit of help from a coworker.

I think I need another Pioneer for my personal use :)

Howdy from Oklahoma Pat, and welcome to the club. Great pics.
I have had a few trips up and down a TV tower (with an engineer) in the elevator. I have added that to the list of things I am never going to do again.😱

Nice pics because pics or it didn’t happen
