We know about the great Honda DCT, Dual Clutch Transmission, and it's in some Honda motorcycles.
But, Honda is offering some motorcycles with their e-clutch. Just showing some information and videos about it, if you haven't heard of it.
Honda's E-Clutch is an electronic system that automatically controls the clutch of a motorcycle's multi-gear manual transmission. It allows the rider to start, stop, and change gears without using the clutch lever, and is designed to be smooth and instant.
The E-Clutch combines elements of quickshifters, manually-operated clutches, and Honda's Dual Clutch Transmission technology. It's lightweight and compact, and can be installed without major changes to existing engine layouts. The system is made up of a drive unit and motor control unit (MCU), a three-part clutch lever shaft, and an engine control electronic control unit (ECU).
The E-Clutch can make riding more enjoyable and give the rider more control. For example, it can make navigating city streets less stressful and carving corners more fun. However, some say that the E-Clutch can be switched off or overridden by manually using the clutch lever if riders don't like the additional complexity.
