SpringHill Suites, 495 Riverfront pkwy is also good location. Right on the river. Street level parking if you are pulling a trailer is a plus. I have stayed there several times when traveling for work.

If you are planning to ride inside the state park be sure to are only on legal trails. Just 2 weeks ago ran across article by TWRA about dealing with illegal riding in State Parks, it specifically mentioned Prentice Cooper as one of the locations with bogus trails. If I can find the article link, will post it here.
