We rode all weekend. It had rained Friday so there were numerous puddles. This one wasn't much different from the last one (or last 20). I noticed it was a little deeper but what the heck. In the next 2 seconds I had mud (silt/water) over the seat.

The way I see it... The snorkel just paid for itself

The snorkel kits seem to run about $200. When I swamped mine I spent about that much in filters and fluids. It also cost me a day of trail riding with family, a lot of stress a five evenings of work. So yeah a snorkel pays for itself sometimes really fast.

Here's the number without snorkel so that $200 is well spent. Some parts aren't available either and this is before full teardown so there would've been additional. SNORKEL!

I really want to click "like" on your post CP. But I sure don't want you to think I like you having to spend $1,700.

Where does one find a snorkel? I wonder if it'll work with the way I have everything set up?

You can make one for the 500 for way less if you are at all handy with pvc. I probably have $30 into mine and it's a double stack. Cheap and easy mod.

How did you adapt to the intake and did you have to remove everything like the rear box etc to install it? thanks Trigger.

Wow... And to think I could replace my 6.0 liter gas V8 Chevy engine with 364 horsepower for less than half of that cost. Where in the hell do they come up with these prices????!!!

It's super easy. Cut the two inch intake tube, attach a Fernco, and you're off and running with whatever configuration you choose. Just be sure not to choke the two inch down.
