Awesome data point @Sheetmetalfab . Thanks for adding to the discussion. This is gonna help some one else down the line.

PS - Any pix or estimate of amount ground down and where?

1/16” on the outside of the caliper.

I'm interested to look see what route you took for steel wheels

Well I was gonna stick with steel until I found out about having to both go to a 14" wheel AND use 4+3 offset plus caliper interference. Was real tempted to stick with 12" wheels all the way around but they wouldn't work. 28" tires is what I am initially gonna go for.

However, the possibility that I may want to go 30" in the future has steered me towards a 14" wheel. So went ahead and bought a spare wheel/tire I needed anyways that gets me the 5+2 offset I wanted.

It is a Method 409 14x7 5+2 offset with a Tensor Regulator 28x10x14. All my replacement tires will be the 28" Tensor. Just don't know if I'll bite the bullet on 4 new Methods or stick with my 12" steelies and run the 28x10x12 Tensors.

Did you go with the 4+3 offset? Any rubbing of your calipers?

I can confirm the 14” 4+3 offset steel itp wheels with tapered lug holes fit the talon. (I had to grind the front brake calipers a little but worth it for steel wheel reliability)
Make sure you run itp lug nuts and not thr factory honda ones. They have a different taper.
