I know this is a Honda forum but I'm having a bit of anxiety about the pioneer I've ordered. While I'm waiting for it to arrive I've been reading everything on this forum and now I'm wondering if this pioneer 1000-3p eps is going to be sporty enough. I guess I'm wondering do any of you guys have any experience with the John Deere how does the suspension compare? I had a 2013 850i rsx trail and it was a beast but it was loud and dusty( no cab) I know it's not an Rzr but I'm hoping its atleast as sporty as my John Deere was. Any input would be awesome.

I sold my 2012 Gator RSX850i and got the 1000 P5. I am very happy so far....not as loud, FASTER than RSX, smoother riding, A LOT more ground clearance. You do sit up higher in the pioneer so have higher center of gravity and it is wider by approximately 6-7 inches.

I backed out of the Honda I had a deposit(500$)down on a 1000-3p with a winch, windshield and bumpers it was a hair under $23000 after tax. I found a used 2014 gator special edition with 7km yes 7km. Bought it for 14k. It might not be as good as the Honda but for 9k I think I can live with it. I still hope to get a pioneer so maybe in the fall.

I'll say this about the Gators, they will perform with a load on them! We have put the one on our farm through the ringer and still performs flawless. But I do LOVE my Pioneer1000m3 over the Gator. Never owned a RSX, almost did last summer, so I cannot speak on how they compare. The only complaint I have about the Gator is the noise the suspension makes.

Dealer had to replace belt and clutch on my gator with less than 250 miles....guy who bought it replaced belt again. Make sure you relocated all vent lines because he also had water get into about everything and didn't even go that deep. Had fun with it while I had it but was glad to move on.

On ours we have only slipped the belt once, and have been in water and mud over the floor and no problems. It has over 1100 miles and still counting.

I have a 2012 JD 825i Gator with roughly 255 hours and over 3400 miles on it and it is all stock and original except the front tires, I've had to replace them twice. Other than it being a little tight in the Cab and being noisy, its been a darn good machine!! The Gator is built to work!! With all that said, I'm really leaning towards upgrading to a 1000-3 EPS because I've always had Honda 4wheelers growing up and never had any issues with them. I also want the 3 wide seating and a much quieter machine. Zero bad things to say about the Gator, but looking forward to the Pioneer!!!!

I had to use our Gator today and on take off its very sluggish compared to the Pioneer. The Pioneer had way better ground clearance as well.

When I get home I'll post some pics of my new used gator. The pioneer would have been awesome it's just to hard for me to swallow the price difference.

I can't imagine anyone thinking the 1000 isn't sporty enough. It's no sport model mind you, but is a beast for what it is. It'll rip up the trails way faster than I'd ever want to go. And as mentioned, that ground clearance is a plus.

You need to go to a different dealer or a different country. I got my 1000-5 for about 6000 cheaper than your 1000-3

I'm pretty sure he is talking Canadian dollars... Should be like $17,700 USD.

Wow that price is high! Makes me feel really good about the deal I found. Maybe because of location?

My new 2017 1000-3eps was $12,999 out the door in Las Vegas, NV. Had to drive 500 miles, but worth it. Stock, no accessories. Have 2,300 miles now. Only issues at purchase... loose ground wires. Tightened myself, no issues since of any kind. Run in mountains and desert. Last weekend was first time 3rd heat bar came on. Wonder why? 2,000 pounds of rock specimens in front and back. Worth about $5,000 plus. Slow, overweight, mountainous, and 90 degrees. Never did overheat.
