My apologies. Sometimes we just can’t help ourselves.I think this is about to get moved to the PUB 🤣
I wonder if we could design a float pioneer using two or more kayaks and make it into a paddleboatpioneer with phasing pulse powered drive man. We could drive down the boat ramp and lower the toons man...like you know...like.There is a pond about 5 minutes away from me that is only accessible by atvs and sxs I was wondering how I could carry my kayaks on the pioneer? I will be carrying 3 kayaks. Any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks in advance.
I have had success putting a Hobie Mirage Outback on the roll bars on top of Yakima “Big Catch” kayak mounts. It’s a long (12.5 feet) and heavy (85 lb.) hull. I initially put the mounts on the fore and aft roll bars but that was a mistake because it works better on the center and rear bars as the spacing is closer to a regular car rack. The only issue I have is that the Yakima mounts want to spin on the bars, so I used some bicycle inner tube pieces to help; I think I need to use some rubberized tape around the roll bars to really do the trick. I am tempted to buy or build some kind of trailer with a track width and ground clearance to match the Pioneer 1000-5 to make loading easier; it would also be nice leave the kayak on the trailer, ready to go. Loading a kayak on top of the Pioneer is no joke... it’s is already taller than most SUV’s and then add the height of the mounts. However, the benefit is you don’t lose any ground clearance or maneuverability (except for watching for overhead branches, and the kayak will extend ~4 feet behind the rear bar). There is a pond about 5 minutes away from me that is only accessible by atvs and sxs I was wondering how I could carry my kayaks on the pioneer? My wife has the Mirage and I have the Revolution Hobbies. I bought the higher performance fins for ours. I was thinking about this very thing back in 17, defiantly not long haul solution.Mounted my Hobie Mirage single on the roof of my 1000-5. Aluminum bubble insulation under kayak and styrofoam over center roll bar as there are no supports there. Run the USFS roads and logging trails to remote areas of our mountain lake. Rides fine and the roof is no worse for wear.View attachment 344373View attachment 344374View attachment 344375View attachment 344376View attachment 344373View attachment 344374View attachment 344375View attachment 344376
