KY- WV ride

What?!?!?!........man I'd be there every weekend if I was that close 🤦‍♂️ My nephew and neighbors go to Tacketts from our house and can be at Clairfield/valley creek in 35-40 minutes. We just don’t care for the twa tags$$$. That’s why I ride the outlaw trails around our home,they’re like me…..wild and free.

Did you live in Middlesbrough? I delivered to consolidated coal in Tacketts back in the 80s-90s . It was a unreal operation.

We lived in Jacksboro. He drove through Lafollette, up Powell Valley to Pudge's gas station and over the mountain to Tackett Creek.

I remember see those guys coming down the mountain. A lot of them had Subaru “brats”. I couldn’t believe how well they made it across the mountains even in bad weather lol.

Over the weekend we met up with some friends who live outside of Williamsville KY and did some riding. We got to ride on some private property and see a really neat mine. We did a lot of riding in KY on trails I had never been on. On the WV side we came up a trail out of Matewan and found the mine that the ATV is in front of. You could go in both mines, but the one was easier than the other. The photo where we are in the mine still has the rail way for the coal cars, but only the ties, the rail's were gone. We rode to the top of a old strip mine in KY. Neat view, but it was 90 degrees that day, so we didn't stay long.

Great Pics!!! I actually live in Williamson. Know right where those spots are. Those mines are everywhere round here. Glad you enjoyed the ride.
