WELCOME from NW Arkansas! I can't use my Black Oak 20 inch when riding in a group, too bright for the rider in front of me, so been used very little, side pods I can use with a group and puts the light where I need it. Have fun!
I used a 54” curved lightbar installed on the top. Like this one here:

Are you running the new light off of the factory battery, or will it be running from a second battery. My P1K is around sixty inches wide so I mounted a 52" above the roof. When riding in a herd I use the factory LED headlights as to not cook the people in front of me. Good luck!!

Everyone has their personal preference on where to mount auxiliary lighting, myself I prefer to have the light below my line of sight rather than above. IMO when the light is above your line of sight and riding in dust, fog, rain or snow the reflection of particulate matter Can at times be near blinding, but that could also be from my aging eyes. (wink)
Info on the lightbar and brackets would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of rig do u have? You havent done a intro so we dont know to help you proper with your issue? So To be clear, are you trying to mount pods or a light bar?front or rear?
