I took it in good humor. I have been designing stuff for 46 years (pressure vessels). If I make a mistake somebody dies. But I must say its a full time job preventing many engineers from taking themselves to seriously. So I wasn't in disagreement. Anyway pardon me if I was out of line. Was a joke to post

Not at allI took it in good humor. I have been designing stuff for 46 years (pressure vessels). If I make a mistake somebody dies. But I must say its a full time job preventing many engineers from taking themselves to seriously. So I wasn't in disagreement. Anyway pardon me if I was out of line.
I hear yaWell I've been dealing with structural and civil engineers for 30 years. Not all bad but...
signs in the middle of sidewalks, beams that levitate...
prints are merely a drawn suggestion, I have to make it a reality.
I have all the respect in the world for guys that do that job. I wouldn't want to do it. Too tedious for me.I took it in good humor. I have been designing stuff for 46 years (pressure vessels). Don't overthink it. It's a Honda not a Polaris, do what you want within reason and enjoy the machine.So...does a 1" spacer
put more stress on
bearing than a wheel
& tire over 2 times the
weight of stock

Was asking a questionDon't overthink it. It's a Honda not a Polaris, do what you want within reason and enjoy the machine.
Was simply saying you don't have to worry about moderate changes, it won't hurt anything. Was asking a question
to someone who would
know something about it
cause member gave mixed messages
....didn't expect you as a staff member
to be a dick...

OK, just like when you "like" someone's post then quote them and call them a dick. Simply a matter of 22 beer disparity affecting the persons perception. That's how I took it.
I know the answer to wat
I was asking...was making
sure the newbies knew that
some members say one
thing on beer #3 and another
on beer#25

To answer the two part question.So...does a 1" spacer
put more stress on
bearing than a wheel
& tire over 2 times the

ThanksTo answer the two part question.
A spacer would put stress on the hub more so than the bearing.
2x heavier tires and wheels would put more stress on the axles, CV joints, clutch, and transmission. The bearings in this case would be the least of worries.
Lol, are we waxing philosophical trigger.I have all the respect in the world for guys that do that job. I wouldn't want to do it. Too tedious for me.
I have the luxury of looking at something in reality, 3D. Planning it all on paper without making a mistake...
better left to the brainiacs. Thanks for doing what you do loco.
A man doesn't pick a career, it's the other way around.
Yep, that's part of the risk assessment.I put 1" spacers on an ATV one time. Rear wheel fell off. I turned right. Tire stayed straight... That's my only concern. Something else to keep a monitor on...
I'm always looking at my ATV rears now and counting threads on the studs coming through the nuts.
Didn't use thread locker huh?I put 1" spacers on an ATV one time. Rear wheel fell off. I turned right. Tire stayed straight... That's my only concern. Something else to keep a monitor on...
