So I looked at the main 3 options.

Cheap (Cheap doesn't mean bad) $40 (35AH CCA 264) 12 month warranty
Universal 45976 12v 35AH Sealed Lead Acid AGM Battery Apex Battery

The forum fav Odyssey PC925 $155 (28AH CCA 330) 24 months warranty They say on Amazon 3 to 4 but Odyssey say 2 on power sport. It is designed to run 10 years. batterieshttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002ILK72/ref=cm_sw_r_em_api_c_Kb79zbTAC8D4W

My pick XS D925 $169.99 (28AH CA550) 36 month warranty It is designed to run 10 years.
https://www.amazon.com/XS-Power-D925-Battery-Terminal/dp/B001GN0COE/?tag=sxsweb24-20

Note: The Xs D925 is tested at 32deg for CA the Odyssey is ran at 32deg for CCA on marine and the PC925 is in that class.

AH is also tested very different Odyssey test is a much lower standard than XS test at. Read Links for more info.

Lets talk a little about the isolator the way it work is they are isolated till the alternator is charging and bring the Volts up to 13 Volts. It then opens so both can charge then when you cut the SxS off. It then fall below the 13 Volts and lets the start battery start the SxS and secondary be drained to run the extras.

Now the thing I'm not sure about what I am going to do? Use the factory battery as the second and the XS D925 as the starter being it has way more Cranking Amps or the D925 as second.

Something else to keep in mind is the Winch. The bigger Warn Winch 5000k and up say you need a 650CCA battery. The 4500k winch says nothing so I called and asked they say it need CCA also but because you are so limited due to batteries in the ATV they not spec-if. They told me you should never run the winch without the ATV running due to CCA on those batteries. Point is I think the winch is really killing peoples batteries. So now I have to decide do I need the CA more for the Pioneer or the Winch.

Last thing if you live up North I think the Xs D925 would really work good for the cold with all those Cranking Amps.

May look at this under your seat.

Doesn’t kill as easy and will handle your winch.

The D925 works great.

Put one in my race car (I had been doing work on the car and let the battery get down to 70% still cranked my 93 cobra with no problem)

Love the Cobra! And the 92 too!

Thanks for link to the build thread. I spent the last hour looking thru it. Man - that's super cool!

Very clean. I guess I wouldn't expect anything else from you based on your Honda build!

I'm a big fan of the sleeper look on Mustangs.

Thanks for sharing!

looking to bite the bullet for a second battery, anything new on the scene to replace the odyssey, $190 is tough to bite on. Hell, that's more than I spend on the battery for my Pro Tour Monte Carlo SS. I did look at the Odyssey site as well, they do not even list a battery for the 2018 P1ooo LE.

I'm sorry but I don't understand any of this I gave you the cheap option. I made it clear that Odyssey is overpriced and go with the XS if your going to spend the $$$. And I also gave you all the sizes.

Just installed the battery in TripleB's link yesterday. Fits nice and everything is working as expected.
Same battery I've had since Takeover earlier this year. Have had no issues and the winch gets used pretty often.

Personally for the dollar I don't see how you can beat it. Yes, I went with the XS but its a tax right off and I would have a backup for my car.

The AGM battery vs Gel, no contest.

Quick search online (not sure about the less expensive part, from my experience AGM's cost a bit more.

"AGM Batteries have a lower internal resistance that allows for much faster charging and better performance under heavy load conditions. AGM Batteries will most likely also perform better than GEL in colder operating conditions, and AGM is often less expensive as an option for getting reliable power.Jun 1, 2021"

I also went with an AGM battery, a deep cycle marine version, cheaper, does the job and if properly taken care of (IE kept charged) last a long time, my last one lasted 6 years.

Also, I would use the larger bigger battery as your accessory battery and not swap it for the start battery. The whole reason people put in an second battery is for the heavy load of accessories especially a large winch. The puny start battery will not last long with any use of a winch, even for plowing a driveway.

I think you misunderstood my last post I added a new starter battery, My secondary battery is a XS Power. I fine it hard to find Starter batteries to be harder to find good Options. Being its a smaller space.
