Hello, I'm Badblubug

hello all

Purchased a 500 today, extras include winch, windshield, hard roof, rear Panel and doors, in red cause red was all they had

Planing a trail ride tomorrow, going to be a high of 40 so will see how well that cab holds in heat and blocks the wind,

purchased a heated seat cover as I plan to use the 500 all winter, trails are open all year here if you can stand the snow and cold

Happy trails to all

Here is a little info about me to begin with!
Honda SxS ownership : Yes
I have owned, or currently own the following: ATV
My off-road experience level is: Trail Rider
My favorite place to ride is: Up here in the north

Thanks all

I took the 500 on about a 50 miles trek today, the cab works well, although it has some gaps here and there not much if any wind comes thru should make cold weather riding fun, when I started out the temps were in the mid 30’s just wore jeans, sweat shirt with a lite jacket, boots and gloves had warmer gear but it stayed in the bag all day

First impressions on the 500, love it, my 1st sxs and 1st one I ever rode in, seems real stable on all kinds of terrain, the automatic shifts great and seems to be in the best gear for whatever speed I was going, switching over to manual and using the paddle shifter is also fun
It’s a bit noisey hoping it quiets down a bit as it breaks in, when cold starting it just seems to crank over to long before it fires up, my 07 rancher (still have it) doesn’t take that long to start after sitting all winter!

Have a set of battery operated Bluetooth speakers that I hung off the roll bar with Velcro straps and played some bonamassa on the ride, great day!

Come to think of it, riding the pioneer on a cool day is about the same as driving the bug! They both put out the same amount of heat

I drive my p500 all winter long and it's nice compared to an atv. They make doors for it but they are expensive. I put a back window on it December through March and it helps with the wind, but it is dustier inside the cab.

The doors are pricey for what they are but they work, they clamp on to the roll bar with regular old radiator hose clamps, I think it’d be pretty easy to make your own if you wanted, make a frame like Honda’s buy some canvass and a roll of ~20 cold crack clear plastic, stitch it up and there ya go

Was planning on taking it out this weekend but woke up to a few inches of snow Saturday morning and thought eh.. I’ve got all winter for that...
