Don't know if everyone saw but he was hit by a car riding a bicycle overseas. Major brain damage, not good...

Really sad. He's had such a great career and he's such a good guy.

Didn't know that and very sorry to hear. One of Hondas best back in the day. I don't keep up with roadracing any more but he was one of my favs.

Wow sad day for Motorsports indeed. These guys love what they do but it's a dangerous job. 200+ mph on 2 tiny patches of rubber. And to end this way. All the Hayden brothers are talented. Condolences to the family.

Was just about to post this till I saw others have. I've followed Nicky since about 97, during his TCR dirt tracking days. He signed with Honda in 99, MotoGP in 03, World Champ in 06. The most loved guy on and off the track. Very important person to Honda then and now..especially during the glory days of "Win on Sun, Sell on Mon". He was admired throughout the entire motorsports community, Hendricks motorsports this past weekend ran #69, (Nickys #) on their NASCARS. Along with multipe F1 teams. Indy was his closest home track, Tonight they are lighting it up with his name on, Owensboro KY (his home town) are flying flags at half mass. If any of you guys are fans of Motorsports or Honda expect to hear his name this weekend.

We've lost a true ambassador to the sport of Motorcycleing and a great ambassador of Honda...God Speed Nicky
