Need help with Offset Math...

I know we have talked this issue into the ground. So much so that just thinking of it makes my head hurt... and yet I still need help. Sorry in advance.

I just need rough estimates, and a better understanding of this exact circumstance.

I currently have a 5+2 offset, if I switch that to a 2+5 offset. What is the effect?

Based on this chart I will be wider. Correct? If so how many inches wider from my CURRENT set up? Which with 5+2 is roughly 53 inches.

3" on each side sounds right. Possibly rub on back of front wheel well at full lock. More strain on bearings/bushings. maybe find a set of 2" spacers to play with before buying new wheels.

Yep. I have a set of the RB3 Wide Track Bundle ( 1" inch front, 1.5" rears). Going to add those to my current set up for now. Doing some other upgrades this winter.

This should help you understand. Scroll down and click on wheel offset calculator. This site has many other features as well. Good luck

I told you, be a bad ass and buy a Talon! Futzin will get over it.
I love my P5. I think everyone should learn to drive in one... You might wanna get a P5 and learn too Ditch Rider.

Futz is an awesome friend, he will support me in whatever machine that makes me happy. Plus I am about 75% sure I am going with long travel on my P5.

I agree, I think everyone should start out in a P5 until they learn to drive. I obviously haven't learned to drive yet and that's why I'm still in one.

What you are asking about will very noticeably affect your steering geometry in a negative way. By pushing out approx. 3" on each side when turning, it's going to turn with increased difficulty and at speed (what little there is) will definitely feel weird. Just an FYI

If you are determined to go wider, a more proper method would be getting the long travel kit from @jak9922 with longer A-arms, axles, and if in the budget much better shocks, you would gain more travel, ground clearance, and a notable better ride all without the negative effect of going from a 30mm OEM offset to 80mm offset.
