What are folks using for oil and air filters for your P520 (mine is a 2022, if that makes a difference). Do you just go with the Honda parts, or do you use aftermarket.

I'm not really a fan of K&N air filters: I've heard too much about them being good for a bit of extra power (less restrictive than OEM), but not so good at the filtering part.

Also: do you end up replacing the spring, O-rings, and drain plug crush washer every time you replace the oil filter?

I bought an Amazon oil filter and when I changed the oil the rubber gasket was smashed to the side. I just bought Oem after that. I inspect the other stuff and it’s fine to reuse. I have 2 Oem air filters because it can take a couple of days to dry after cleaning it.

Are you finding OEM air filters online? What part number are you using for your 2022 P520

I keep a set of o-rings on the shelf incase I mess one up but i don't always replace them.

Trying to buy an OEM air filter on Amazon is impossible with all the knockoffs.
The p5s use a ATV filter.
Best bet is to order by part number at one of the on line motorcycle places.

But, be careful the 500 and 520 filters use different types of "oil".
The p500 filter is yellow and comes with Dino oil on it.
The p520 filter is Grey and comes with Honda's "no toil" stuff that is alcohol based.
The no toilet stuff turns to gunck if you try to wash it out with solvent.
After you wash it out you can use either.
Just don't mix them.

Once upon a time I tried to do the no toil.
I wanted to like it.
Auto correct is wanting me to write toilet 🚻.
Even autocorrect knows it's crap.

Thanks for that info. Good to know about the special oil. What do you use to clean it, if you are not using some solvent such as gs or diesel? Just soap and water?

I finally found a Honda air filter (part # 17254-HL5-E60) and ordered it. The oil filter was easier to find.

The no toil comes out with HOT water and soap. They sell a special soap but hot water is key
