Has anyone had a problem with there self leveling shocks on there 1000-5 deluxe? Mines a 2018 with 250 miles on it and has worked good last year. I put the machine in storage in November for winter and went in the shed today to check things out and have 2 big puddles of oil under each tire. There is oil all over the bottom of the shocks and a-arms. I was surprised this happened with the machine just sitting. Has anyone else had this happen?

I've never had a problem out of any Honda shock ever.

I'm sure due to the location it could only be the shocks, or brake fluid. Did it have a certain smell or color?

There was no smell that I could pick up on. The oil has a brown/tan color to it. When I push on the back of the machine the shocks take no effort to move feels like just the springs are taking the load. You can also see the back of the machine is squatting.

There have been several reports of busted rear stock shocks.. either get the dealer to warranty if still under or you can sometimes find used ones on here where folks go to an after market shock.. I would suggest aftermarket foxes and be done with it. Your ride will GREATLY improve!

I have the stock rear shocks from my 2018 1000-5. They have 8 miles on them. 7 at the dealer and a cruise around my yard. $150 shipped

Same exact thing happened to me you described. Mine is a 2022. 450 miles. Puddle on the garage floor with leaking from the back passenger shock. If anyone has extra back stock shocks after upgrading to the Fox let me know
