Rust Away

This is a company a buddy of mine is building a truck for this years SEMA for. It's pretty impressive. Never heard of such a product. They went and found this truck in a field where it has been for several decades. Travis pressure washed it to get all the dead animals and animal feces out and they are dipping the whole truck piece by piece and then just going to clear coat it. Will be a very unique truck when finished. Not to mention he is putting a late model duramax in it and building a hand made chassis with full air ride. Here is a picture of the cab after washing and the fender that has been dipped.

I don't know how it works. I've been stopping in occasionally to check on my buddy and he has told me about this project. He said they are trying to find a dumpster big enough to dip the whole cab in so they can do the process on it. Evidently you dip the material in this and it just washes the rust away... crazy stuff. All the fender, doors, hood are already done. They are testing clear to see if they want gloss or flat.

Looks to be something that dissolves rust with out affecting paint

Hydrochrolic acid ?? Pure chemistry .

Coke or Pepsi might have similar effect on rust since it has huge amount of phosphoric acid
