That's the rubber I make the Quick Shields out of. Yes I have one down by the gas pedal as well on the firewall side.

Maybe? Don't know how helpful it'll be, it's down low and routed around a bunch of crap. I put it in not so much to block air infiltration but to stop water from pouring on my throttle foot going through water holes.
