Had a warm afternoon, so I figured I would finally add a few safety switches.
.
Just bypassing the seatbelt switch would not accomplish what I needed.
.
Things I wanted my switches to do:
1) Me riding around my farm, no seatbelt, no speed limit. (No Lock, Bypass)
2) Me riding trails or gravel roads, seatbelt, no speed limit. (No Lock, No Bypass)
3) Teenagers riding around my farm, seatbelt, 12mph speed limit. (Lock, Inop. Bypass)
4) Other adults riding around my farm, no seatbelt, 12mph speed limit. (No Lock, No Bypass)
.
Using the seat belt governor was the perfect EASY solution.
Hooking into the seat belt wiring, green and grey wires, under the seat was simple.
.
These are the switches I used to make it happen.
1) a keyed lock on off switch, key comes out either position.
2) a latching on off push button switch
.
Here is where I mounted them. Driver side.

.
.
Here is how they work.
.
Switches normal riding

.
With the Lock open, it makes the seat belt switch and the bypass switch inoperable.
So, if they happen to push the bypass, the vehicle will still only do 12 mph.
Switches kids riding

.
.
Sometimes adults ask to drive, "I don't need a seat belt."
All I do is touch the seat belt bypass, without them knowing, and now only 12 mph until they put on their seatbelt.

.
Switches others riding

.
Have a good day

Great Idea and execution @Mark in Northern Iowa
Did you just cut and splice in to the harness?

@Hondasxs this looks like the start of a good plug n play kit. Just replace the 2 switches with a single 3 pos keyed and wire up w the connectors and you have all 3 modes plug n play. you would lose the sneakiness but simplify the kit and install

something like this (probably you can find a better or cheaper one, this is just the first one i came across)

Well, of course I did, because @Hondasxs doesn't make a plug in kit yet. 👍 :)
As shown above:
1) The lock switch is spliced inline with the gray wire.
I could have used either wire, it does not matter
2) The push button latch switch, is spliced into each wire, green and grey.
This must go closer to the actual seat belt side, or the lock switch will not work.
.
I don't believe everyone would need what I required.
It could easily be built to order I suspect.

I would buy a plug and play setup. This would be great for letting the kids learn on.

WISH I WOULD HAVE DONE THIS INSTEAD!!!!! hahaha, oh well
.
Remote control, I just didn't know remote switches were so cheap.
Control from your pocket, and it will stay that way until you push the button again.
.
Here are the parts:
Honda plug connectors, male and female
.
2 channel wireless latching switch
.
Speed limiter

.
- no button, normal operation
- press "A", speed limited.
- press "A" again, back to normal.
- press "B", no seat belt required and no speed limit.
- press "B" again, and back to normal
If you press them both, "A" is first in line, so speed will be limited.
.
Have a good day
