No plate behind.. plenty of steel there but I did put a flat washer and lock washer on the back.Those are sweet, what do they run if you don't mind me asking? Did you bolt them straight to the bumper or did you put some type of brace plate behind them?
Also a question about your winch...from the pictures it looks as if your winch cable come out fairly level without the sharp angle that some winches do. Is that so? I used a KFI winch plate and I have a pretty severe winch cable angle

I've used it some... I'm not worried about it.Have you used the winch often? I was reading that reversing the winch would damage it somehow, not sure if that is true or not. I agree I don't like the extra strain on the rope from where it rubs
