Amazing weather in NC this weekend. Time to hit the trails at Brown Mountain with my boy.

A few pics from deer season with the 700-2. Did everything I asked and more . The new Terabytes handled all of the rocky hills and muddy fields just fine as well. We had a mild winter and the coldest start was a few days in the teens and it started right up after a couple of turns.

Killed a big ol doe later in season when I was by myself. 1st time thinking about getting one in bed. Used a little redneck ingenuity and cranked it up with a couple of heavy ratchets and flipped her in the bed. No stress on my old and twisted back and only took a few minutes. That being said, I'll have a different method next season.

Was a great season as always. Some fine deer killed, some fine eating, great fellowship, fine campfires and no work for 8 weeks.

Start of season until the last pic I took when leaving.

9" in the front and 11's rear?

Nice! I really like the sequential story telling by picture also.

12/24/2020 Update: Merry Christmas Eve! I spent the middle of today prepping my new 700 for the icing that is predicted to occur the day after tomorrow. At 45 degrees today to start the snow melting, then an inch plus of rain tomorrow followed by a "flash freeze". That's never a good thing when you live at the top of a 1500 foot gravel driveway that winds steeply up the side of a good sized hill. The fact that there are no guard rails kind of freaks out my wife, adventurous as she is. Anyway, I assembled and put on a 5-gallon bucket holder that fits into the receiver hitch. I put two buckets in that are filled to the brim with sand. The rack didn't have any weight rating that I could find but I don't know if it's going to last. It sagged down a good bit with the approximately 50 lbs in each one. I'll keep it easy when this is on the back for sure. But it does lower the bucket height enough that I can reach inside with a shovel. Not such an easy thing when the bucket is in the bed.

Then I installed the rear view mirror and dome light.

And then booted up my new inexpensive Anker blue tooth sound bar and put it conveniently right behind the seat belt fasteners. I cranked up some Bob Marley and headed down the driveway to plow some slots for water run-off. The sound of the bar is "ok". A bit muddled and doesn't get very loud. It's not horrible, and I liked the advertised battery life, so I'd say it's worth the cost so far. My Bose one is better sounding but I didn't want to risk it outdoors.

And I checked the tire pressure as delivered from the dealer. Fronts were 11, rear were 20! I put the fronts down to 9 and rear to 11. I hope that helps the rear traction that I felt was lacking a bit. Even with 300 lbs of sand and salt on the rear.

I guess I'm as ready as I can be. Now I can just relax in the warmth of our house enjoying Christmas day! Mary and I hope that you can too.
