Slightly used frame. Only 3 weeks old. It belong to my niece and her husband it was a white HP 3. Her car (Subaru Legacy) caught fire around 12:30 am and this is what was left to it. Burnt 2 cars, the SXS, a 16 ft trailer, 6 month old camper, garage, outdoor kitchen, and the back side of there home. BUT everyone is SAFE.....

Wow! Might be a good start to a go cart if the buy back wasn't 20%. I'm glad everyone's ok but that's a Ricky Bobby kind of bad day!

Wow... I'm sad to see this happening to anyone. I glad everyone is safe. "Things" can be replaced. People cant.

Ya, it would make for a good project for someone with lots of time on here hands. Look how the entire engine was melted down.
Was it an accident? I sure hope so!

I think the engine is still sitting there (I think). Do you have any other close up photos?

Glad nobody was hurt!

Sorry to see this happen. It is very interesting to see the frame anatomy up close.

The fire investigators found out that her car had a recall on the electrical part of the headlights. The wiring would over heat.

Rims melted and were about 4 ft from the bike. The car engine completely melted. The SXS engine did melt some.

You just don't hear very often of a jap car burning up. Usually that's Lucas electronics. Kind of weird actually

Wow, sorry to hear and see this. If that fire was hot enough long enough to liquify the aluminum rims, I doubt the frame has much integrity, and I surely would try to re purpose given the description of how hot it was.

Because of the heat, I am thinking we will cut up the frame and make some custom bumpers out of the tubing. BUT First that will be my practice bike to chop the top on. I have all Honda ATVs and SXSs. My sister and her husband got there P5 last week, so we will make use of that frame somehow...

save that bumper at some point yourself or someone you know is gonna need it after playing tag with a tree... quick sandblast and powdercoat and it'll be good to go.

Observing the bilateral joints in the lower main frame members it looks like the ROPS is a key component in frame stiffness.

HOLY CRAP. You hear about those recalls. I've even ignored a few. I do hope all they lost was "stuff". Very sorry to hear it.

That shop looks just like the one I just built.

I for one would like to see lots of photos of that frame. They might be handy reference for future modifications.
