Reading between the lines we can see Honda is giving customers what they want. Honda has a great racing history. We can count on a Sport Version and probably next year. The CRF450 X street model has 47 hp so this 1000 engine could have around 100 hp in a Sport version. The motocross bike has a race piston and needs lots of maintenance and probably has another 10 hp. Other then the race and sand dune riders most customers would be happy 75 to 90 hp. That's enough to drive it like a sprint car in the corners if your not in the Terf Mode. A sport model may not have or need a Terf Mode. The Pioneer 1000 will force the other companies to improve design, performance, and build quality. Especially Polaris with so many design and build quality problems. Also the 6 month Polaris warranty and in some cases you have to beg to get warranty coverage. All three of my Polaris models had major problems and it takes a great dealer to get warranty coverage. This its a maintenance item and you have too many miles on it won't work anymore. The few loyal Polaris guys on the Ranger 900 forum are going crazy. Most will upgrade to Honda. The Honda Pioneer 1000 will take a lot of sales from the other brands and the three cylinder Yamaha Sport model coming out in September will set a new performance and quality standard for the race and sand guys.
