Finally joined the big boys club. Moved up from the .40 SW to the 10 mm XDM. I had it shipped from sportsman warehouse to my local FFL dealer.
I was worried about recoil but it's really not that bad. Shooting the Sig Elite Defense ammo 180 grns at 1250 ft/sec and 624 ft-lbs

Love having 16+1 capacity in a 10 mm. This is going to be my primary back country carry weapon. Added a Holosun 507c X2 ACSS Vulcan Red dot and man that thing is sweet. It took a few hundred rounds to adapt to the new red dot but once you transition it's awesome

I was having a problems with open sights due my vision & dominant eye issues after Lasik but the red dot resolved that. The 507 ACSS Vulcan projects a chevron and outer ring. Great alternative to open sights.

Best of luck !

Rudy

Good choice! I have the same exact gun and love it. It’s my woods gun as well. I carry it in a Gunfighters inc Kenia chest holster. Once you try a chest holster you’ll hate hip holsters!

I’ve followed Springfield for a long time because the first one I tried fit my hand so well. Gun Tests Magazine has tested many of their firearms over the years and it’s rare for one to be rated below B+.

I have an XDM-40, an XDM9c (both are high cap, scary black ‘assault’ weapons) and a Mod 2 Sub Compact FDE in 9mm, love them all. 😍

10MM is like 40 cal but for men…J/K!!

Seriously although I really like my XD45 i went with the Rock Island 10MM 1911 and I love it!

Alas, that was before the boating accident…
Maybe when I become a real man I will get a 10mm until then my 40 will be fine. At least is is not 9mm:):):) Kidding I have those too. I mean I used to have guns but not anymore:):):)

Of all my pistols, I like my 9mm the best oddly enough. I think it’s that platform, I need to buy one in 40 or 10mm.

Nothing wrong with 9mm but for the about same cost and capacity you are getting 45 power( with factory loads) . I shoot my 40" or I did when I had guns as well as I did my 9mm's

This 10 MM has about the same or less recoil than my XDM 3.8 40. I think it has to do with the slide and spring. Also doing a PRP Drop-In Trigger Kit this week.

I'm having second thoughts on the red dot. Works great and is super accurate but when the sun is out you need to turn it up. It has an auto sensor that controls intensity but that sensor gets over powered by the tr1 tactical light. Trying to balance the day/night settings at this point.
