Looking to swap out stock steelies and 27” dirt commanders for 27x9x12 terrabites on all four corners, question is do I pick up a set of steelies or go alum. Bling doesn’t really do anything for me. Plus with steelies I could weld up some bead stiffners on them and not worry about a little trail damage.

For practicality, I say steel. They take a better beating and you can always straighten them back up. Aluminum is nicer most times and obviously lighter, but they can crack if hit hard enough.

My 2 cents 😉

Something to think about is Unsprung weight, 95% of those looking to improve their ride do not even consider. Total wheel tire weight has an effect on performance across the board, Braking, suspension and acceleration.

I run aluminum I just like their looks plus about all of them have a great warranty to replace if damaged . I have beat and banged them forever on different machines without issue.

Sounds to me like you prefer the steel rims so I would go with them. Either one will look good !
