I searched and can’t find old threads that I think answered the question.

I have an extra pair of 10” factory rear rims and wonder if my next tires could all be 25x10x12. I measured the offset of my 8” front rims (5”) and 10” rear rims (6”). I have 1 1/2” spacers on the front wheels now.

When I do a quick measurement they look like they’ll fit. I’m not sure about clearance when turned fully.

Is it more difficult to steer with the wider front tires? Any difference in traction in 4wd? Reduced turn radius from the tires rubbing the frame?

I drive primarily national forest logging roads, some really rocky. No sand and in the spring it’s Montana clay-based mud time.

The ground clearance is so small I’m tired of the body pan getting stuck on snow and digging underneath to back up, so I only use it to plow in the winter.

Thanks.

My 500 came from the previous owner with factory rear wheels front and rear. As you've noted, the track width will be different requiring different width spacers to even it up...if that bothers you.

I ran spacers...can't remember what size (search under my name if you'd like to know), and there was zero rubbing with 26x10x12's all the way around. Doubt there would be any with no spacers either, but I never ran that way, so I can't say for sure. Personally, I don't like the look.

I also can't comment on the difference in steering (due to never having had stock fronts) other than to say I didn't find it hard to steer even with the wider wheels and spacers.

You’ll be committing to getting dirty. Mudbusters if it gets annoying.Don’t be afraid of finding 26/11/12’s if you have to use spacers.Helps protect front beads on rougher trails. Steering wise they’ll grab trail obstacles but the increase in ability goes way up and the ride will improve……

I'm confused by the OP. The factory rear wheels are 7.5" width and the fronts are 6" width. Unless we're actually talking about wheel diameter, then those are really small and a 12" tire won't work on a 10" diameter wheel. Or are we just talking about tire width? 🤷‍♂️

Tire sizes, I’m not sure about the actual rim widths on the tires, I don’t have an easy way to measure that.

Asking about mounting an extra pair of rear tires/rims on the front with existing 1.5” spacers.

You'll probably need to take the spacers off the front for a more even track width. Running wide's on all four does give a cushier ride, as long as your psi isn't crazy high. Can't answer the rubbing question as there's too many variables at play. I know you can get too wide and cause terrible rub issues though, I've done it. It causes the machine to be a little floaty through turns. You wouldn't think so as you have more contact with the ground but they just don't dig like the skinny's do. Makes the machine look cool but I bailed on it due to the turning issue. Running a higher psi on the fronts helped some.
