P1000 Swapping -5 bed to -3

May have found someone to trade my 1000-5 bed for a 1000-3 bed. Does anyone know if I need to remove the rear floor for them to be able to use the -5 bed on their -3 to make it all work. The parts lookup shows them to be the same but i recall someone saying they were different

They will need the floor I’m pretty sure. I’ll try to look in the morning to confirm.

Pretty sure its different. I remember looking at a 3 and thinking damn thats an easy oil check.

You need to look at his frame assembly at the rear and yours, he might need more than just the floor pan and I’m not 100% sure about how interchangeable they are.

Im a idiot, I couldn't find the right diagram for for the "Foot Well" So they are different and I will definately need to include it! The -3 has basically a small engine cover. I don't think I need that part for my setup.

I just checked, the frame is the same on both, it’s the difference in parts for the 5 vs 3. It’s doable, just takes time.

No, the frame looks to be the same, y’all just need to get them sitting next to each of them and swap parts.

Yeah that would be ideal but we are just driving through and dropping off lol. I haven't found anyone local unfortunately.

Gotcha, ultimately he needs your bed and floor pan. Hopefully you guys don’t come up missing anything from one another.

I'll be covered with just his bed, If I forget anything I'll definitely buy him whatever he needs

He should just need the bed assembly and the floorboard. The side panels (where the full cap is on the right side) should be the same for both 3 and 5.

The only difference is the bed itself and the floorboard. Then ofcourse the back half of the cage as well.

Make sure if you've had the muffler recall done, you get the 3 seat updated bump stops for the bed. The updated muffler cover hits the bed at full tilt without them. He'll want to get the 5 seat stops to get the full lift out of the bed as well.

Just to update the post. You'll need the Bed (of course), the floor and the panels that attach up the back around the air filter cover. The lift shock for the bed. The bump stops for the muffler cover. And obviously the roll cage to complete it.

Dirt Road Fab is building me a custom cage so I can build mine into a 6 seater, using a teryx rear bench. Dimensionally the 5 seater bed is much smaller in the rear. 44" in about the middle of the seats. Where as the 3 seater bed is 55" in the same spot. I couldn't find a small enough 3 seat bench to make the 5 seater bed work.
