if I wanted to install a tach, which wire would i splice into. I'm assuming it would be the coil wire. Also what max RPM would I set the tach to. I know it has a rev limiter but I'd like to not take it that high.....

Hello dynabob,
Honda Pioneer Red Line is around 6800rpm. I think around 1400 is idle.

As for installing a tach. You should hunt a clip on or wrap type. I would not recommend splicing the coil wire.

One like this vid would be great.
Around 1:18 is very similar to what u will need.

I believe the TTO Trail Tech is the same thing. I have used them on a variety of different engines, including outboards and lawnmowers. I just received one that will be going on the Pioneer. :)
