My father used to tell me about seeing Robert Wadlow, when my father was a boy. I always felt bad for these people. They were sad to me. People stare at others and don't seem to possess any empathy for others.
Side note...
We have Mennonite familys in our area. They are extremely hard working, honest and helpful people. When the Red River flooded, they came with their horses and cattle dogs and trailers. They accepted NO money for labor, fuel, or time. They loaded hundreds of livestock and horses and took them to other's land or their own and fed and cared for them .
I was in Lowe's once day and a Mennonite family was in there with two daughters and a son. The son was dressed just light his father. Straw hat, shirt and pants and suspenders. The daughters were dressed like their mother with long dress and bonnet. They were bothering NO one.
I couldn't help but notice a guy with his family pointing and laughing and apparently teaching his kids wrong. Even the mother enjoyed belittling the other family, because of their clothes and the way they looked in general. I may have been completely in the wrong, I'll accept any blame it criticisms. But, I just had an adrenaline rush and calmly walked up, not in his face, and told the father that right now is the time to mind your own business and move on. I never raised my voice and never lost eye contact or blinked. He stopped laughing and swallowed several times. He said okay, walked over and apologized to the family and told his kids never to do what he had just done. I just walked off. Later on, the Mennonite family came up to me and thanked me. The father said that wasn't the first time that had happened. And, he greatly appreciated what I did and believed the children learned a valuable lesson they would carry forth in life.
I think anyone who is "different" from the norm, handicapped, wheelchair bound, whatever... Should be helped if needed and not ridiculed. I think their lives are hard enough without that. Sorry for the long story.
Robert died in 1940 and was 8 ft. 11.1 in.
I saw this today. Tallest and Shortest living females.
The world’s tallest and shortest women have met for afternoon tea in celebration of the 20th annual Guinness World Records Day.
Rumeysa Gelgi, a 27-year-old Turkish web developer, and Indian actress Jyoti Amge, 30, swapped stories and life experiences during their meeting at The Savoy hotel in London.
Ms Gelgi holds the Guinness World Record (GWR) for being the world’s tallest woman at 215.16cm (7ft 1in), while Ms Amge is the shortest woman at 62.8cm (2ft 1in)
