This is going to be a one week long adventure that begins in Montrose Colorado and travels east to west across the Uncompaghre Plateau and on to Moab Utah and returning to Montrose Colorado for a total of 7 days and 350 miles, not including any of the six or so side trail trips that we may make. The group will rendezvous at the trail head on the west side of Montrose early Sunday afternoon August 29th 2021 and set out to the first nights camp. The next day we will continue along the trail, with any side trips decided upon and make camp again along the trail. The next day we will continue along the trail arriving Moab in the afternoon and stay 2 nights at the Inca Inn motor court.

While in Moab we will explore a trail or two there, replenish stores, and fuel, and whatever else is of interest and then rejoin the Rimrocker Trail traveling west to east camping two nights along the trail and taking in any side trail trips we missed on the east to west trek arriving back in Montrose Saturday afternoon September 4th 2021 where we will have a room Saturday night and then all will return home on Sunday....

We have secured a decent discount for blocking out 10 rooms with two queen beds each at the Inca Inn motor court at Moab. The rooms are $100.00 a night.

For the Utah side of the trek SXS’s must be street legal, have an OHV plate, and carry liability insurance. Following is a list of Utah’s requirements for our SXS’s to be legal and move about the town of Moab while we are there.

following are requirements for the Utah side. At a cost of about $30.00, all UTV’s are required to purchase a Utah OHV Street legal registration plate and affix it to the vehicle......

In addition to these requirements, a brightly colored flag attached to a antenna no less than 8’ from the ground must be on the UTV......

Particular note to items 3,4,6, and 8.

All Terrain Vehicle Type 3 (Razors & UTV’s) Vehicle Requirements:

1. 2 headlamps
2. 2 tail lamps
3. a tail lamp or other light to illuminate registration plate
4. 1+ red reflectors on rear
5. 2 stop lamps on the rear
6. Amber or red electric turn signals (one on each side of front and rear)
7. Braking system (other than parking brake)
8. A horn or warning device
9. A muffler and emission control system
10. Rearview mirrors on either side of the driver
11. A windshield (or operator must wear eye protection)
12. A speedometer (illuminated for night operation)
13. A seat designed for passengers
14. Seatbelts for all passenger seating
15. Seat height between 20 and 40 inches
16. Tires (manufacturer recommended size) (2/32 inches+ tread)

We will have @Hondasxs set us up an RSVP

@WhiteLightning @Buckydoo @YoungCountry @Waldo93 @jrplaza2008 @Pilgrim@chadbo ...and whoever else may be of interest

Spanning a distance of 160 miles, the Rimrocker Trail provides 4WD, OHV and bicycle access through some of the West’s most stunning scenery. Visitors are immersed in natural beauty as the trail guides them through a landscape of redrock canyons, winding rivers, desert vistas and alpine forests. Whether you travel the whole route or just a portion, the experience will stay with you for a lifetime.

I am looking forward to Pics taken and any vids! Montrose is where our base camp, to 2 Wheel from each day for a week! Getting there was a Real Treat for Scenery. Royal Gorge on the way plus many more! Arkansas River head Waters, Monarch pass was a treat if traveling west on Hwy 50, Black Canyon was a Great site to see also. Someday I will get back there but want to do off-roading. Have a Good and Safe trip!

The trail has fuel only in one spot, Nucla Colorado about 50 miles from Montrose. So drivers will need to have 5 gallons of gas in store each. I’m going to be pulling my tear drop which will have 15 gallons reserve.

Will there be any rock climbing? I’m thinking of adding a roof rack for the trip but didn’t know about if being top heavy would be a issue.

The only place there might be rock climbing would be on whatever trails we do while in Moab, and I don’t know how close those are to town? If it’s not too much trouble, I suppose you could remove it and leave it in your room at Moab....🤔

Ride Name: Hondasxs Rimrocker Trail Ride...

Things in the design, scratch the logo I sent you, it’s trademarked, unless you know it’s ok to incorporate. A tent and SXS would of course be cool, and perhaps red rimrock as a background instead of peaked mountains...hopefully others will chime in.

a few examples...
