So what I had originally thought was a little slop in the bushings turned out that my nuts were loose!

Moral of the story.. even if you’ve locktited your SATV a arm jam nuts. You should prolly check them. I had them tight and hadn’t had any issues until I felt a little slop here a little bit ago. What I assumed was the bushings turned out to be the nuts. I don’t think they backed off. I suspect that they wore the weld down on the end of the tube and allowed for play. Which in turn seems to have worn the balljoint or eye in the a arm. Good thing they have c clips on them! Unfortunately, I don’t have any sore balljoints. They were on my list that I forgot to order after Takeover and now here we are. Good thing we’re not leaving for a big trip in 2 days. Oh well, f*** it!

Yeah, pretty sure the clip isn’t what’s suppose to be holding the ball joint IN!
The clip keeps it from dropping out in theory but the last set I replaced had to be pressed out. That was the repair job on my buddy’s P500. He missed the corner and ditched it which broke the top ball joint.

Yes.. they should have to be pressed in and out. But mine is a little loose from the jam nuts backing off the T’s. I was just being facetious
Gotcha. The good thing is it’s nothing money can’t fix! ;)

Why y’all gotta put that bad juju on me...

If your nuts are loose and your hole is that worn out, it’s seems like a bad idea to go that deep into the west. You might break your back on a mountain or something. I would get those new balls on for protection.

Here’s the thing.. I don’t have a ball joint and even if I did, it’s possibly the socket that’s worn. I maybe fixing it at Justin’s or in Moab. But I’m seeing what SATV will do for getting it to me before I leave or even shipping it to Justin’s or where were staying in Moab.
