Hey Tim...with a couple tweaks that's pretty much what I want to do to 700-2. You're an inspiration...CB, gun rack and a few other things! I just need to figure out what to do with the back roof and side walls.

Only downfall so far for me is I have to let the air out of the tires to get in the garage, will have to figure out some way to ratchet strap it down in the back to get in the garage.

Not a problem for me garage wise it's full of motorcycles, ATV's and my wife has some silly notion she can get her Xterra in there...ain't gunna happen.

Do you have any plans to extend your roof rearward? I have unrefined ideas to put an aluminum roof on the back and some sort of sides, probably some alum frame with Lexan windows on sides and a lift up door on the back. I'd like to have weather tight storage in the back. Hard body seems difficult with that design due to flexing of the frame so I may just put in a small tool box or two back there. Need to get a machine first...shipments from the far East look like they may be late Winter or Spring per the dealers.

If you come up with a good plan don't be afraid to share.

  2. Do not currently own
I was thinking about making a aluminum roof, I think I would be able to get in the garage then.
Down fall to an alum roof would be heat soak, unless you put some kind of heat barrier or lizard skin coating on it i fear it would cook you on a hot day of riding.

Wouldn't it be close to the same with the black plastic roof that is on now? Or does aluminum hold heat more?
