looks cool but i dont think a sxs will fit sideways, normally 7-8 ft for quad, 9-10 for single row sxs
unless the 500 is shorter than i thought

Looks like it would overload the tongue. I like the camper though.

One manufacturer makes one that the weight capacity of the trailer would still be ok. But I thought about the weight on the tongue too.

I've seen a pic of a P5 loaded on one before. Can't remember if it was on here or P5 Facebook page. Was hoping they were on here to see how it was working out for them.

wheelbase says 73, might be fine that way will just stick out a bit. says 1025 lb curb weight, that would be right on your bumper. makes it pretty bouncy but I put air bags and kyb shocks on both my avalanche and my old Yukon they have pretty soft suspension and once you get the pressures right it settles right down when I had two quads and the rhino on my flatbed trailer

you could get load dist bars too like any camper, im sure that would help a lot. I like the reese cam buckle ones that keep the trailer stable too way better in the wind and such, I pull a 33ft one with my half ton wouldn't be able to without those bars

I like the concept and would imagine it is engineered to balance the load correctly, something I would be interested in knowing because as mentioned above, I would be interested in knowing the tongue load. I saw this on the internet which is the reverse and something I might be interested in for myself,

17905d1438817738 camper toy hauler concept what do you think uploadfromtaptalk1438817690369

I thought about doing something like that too. But I want to be able to hook on to it with the P5 pull it to the back yard or for short distances in the woods if I wanted to.

Im looking at a cargo conversion, there are several trailer manufacturers that will build them however you want for “reasonable” prices relative to a toyhauler camper. As soon as I find a tow rig, I’m going to sit down with a few and get real numbers. With mini-me(s) getting big enough to soon be propelled by internal combustion, I’ll need more garage room than a RV will have.

The front deck haulers are all so tongue heavy, and expensive relative to a conversion I figured I might as well have it all enclosed.

I pretty sure your going to need at least a 250/2500 to handle the tongue weight even if it's a pop-up. Do yourself a favor and do your homework before buying any type camper/toy hauler.

personally I would rather have an enclosed trailer for the money. the soft sided campers are essentially the same as having a tent, you don't have room for storage or facilities, might as well just put cots and stuff in the enclosed, you don't have to worry about the leaks, more room if you set it up right and if something happens to the canvas on one of those its thousands to replace.

That was mine you are referring to, I don't have it any more but when I had it it worked well but I did have to add 2" to each side for the P5 to fit and still have the side rails/loading ramps on.

i would think it would be fine on a 1/2 ton. That trailer is light and as far back as the camper sits the P5 may balance the load out. I have hauled mine sideways on a snowmobile trailer that's a little over 8' wide. Easy way to find out take P5 load it up and hook to your truck.

Great advice. I tow my roughly 2000lbs loaded trailer (including the aluminum trailer) regularly 1300 miles one way. It drops my mileage on my 2016 F150 to 12mpg (average speed 72mph). I'm thinking an F250 for the next one. You can get away with a lot under a couple 100 miles, but your truck can't be too big and your trailer too small on the long hauls.
