I just went through buying 2 new starters for my 2, 2009 big reds. Both had magnets that had 1) turned aloose and 2) cracked into many pieces.
If the original starters were bad, then I'm good to replace them and forget about it. If they were killed by heat, as has been suggested by a few people, then I need to try and keep them cooler.
Anyone done this? Underseat fan?
I'm thinking of putting a small fan, with intake grill, and metal output duct on the units. It would pull air from the cabin and blow directly on the starter.
