P1000m5 Windshield time.

Time to buy a windshield for real now. I need to keep the dust down and would really like a half shield, anybody care to post opinions and pics?

The Honda half seems too short and most of our riding is 30mph plus on dusty roads so I want the benefit of the open windshield for dust control. It need to keep the wind out if our faces.

I went from a full windshield with roof and rear panel to wind deflector with roof and rear panel and it creates some pressure in the cab and pushes the heat out as well as the dust from underneath. I am 5'11 and the wind does not hit me in the face so it is just the right height for me

If you're riding behind someone with no windshield you will get dust from them and your rig. With a windshield you will create a vacuume and get dust from just your rig which is still a lot of dust!

I try not to ride behind people for that exact reason. With the little ones dust is exactly what I'm trying to avoid

That was my thought that a half shield would help with the dust same as no windshield in clean air. Thanks for the pic!

is a boss marine head unit and 6 1/2 inch wake board speakers. sirius radio also.speakers are mounted on the side at net fastener and screws thru the back panel

That's pretty slick. I like the Sirius idea too. I never have enough cell service to reliably stream pandora

i have the full cab. i had the glass honda windshield. comparing that to a vikings fold down window from plexiglass, i would go glass and never ever look back. the window is made in america, steel frame. and the optical clarity of the glass is outstanding. you do get dust in the cab, and lots of it. i would reccomend getting a half windshield for summer, and the glass for late fall or winter once the rain starts.

i rolled mine and shattered the glass, the new quote for a auto grade glass from a local glass shop cut to fit is 150 without labor to install.

leave the plexiglass alone and just buy glass if your going full. ive had both, and i only like one.

also, you can use the rain X anti fog stuff on the inside of glass, i think it will eat the plexiglass though im too scared to try

Thanks for the response. Yeah, dust is exactly what I'm trying to avoid. I ordered the smoked superatv half shield. When winter gets near ill consider other options for that.
