Factory winch

Just picked up a Honda Forest edition. Would like to change out the wire cable to a synthetic rope.
The way it is mounted it looks to be a PIA to get your hands in there to do any work.
Have others done this and what size rope 1/4”?

And yes. Bumper most likley has to come off.

I did this a few months ago and have used it. Pretty painless and easy. I did not remove the bumper to switch the winch cable. I have a '22 Trail edition.
