So the difference between the deluxe and the regular 1000 5 is exactly what? Plastics and power steering?

The differences are all listed above if you read each line. Singled them out below:

- Auto, Sport mode (DLX models only)
- Paddle shifters (DLX models only)
- Auto leveling rear shocks (Mechanical System, Standard on 1000-5 models)
- Speed Sensitive Power Steering (DLX models only)
- Color body panels (DLX models only)
- LED lights Hi/Lo (DLX models only)
- 27" Radial big horn tires (DLX models only) Not bias ply tires as Std.
- 14" Aluminum wheels (DLX models only) Not steel wheels as Std.

Hope thats not totally correct. From the picture of the base 1000-5 and specifications sheet it comes with the paddle shifters. Hoping to avoid spending the extra $$$ on the deluxe, can live without eps if thats the only mechanical upgrade....

Yeah I think the paddle shift is on both go on hondas website but then again they really don't change when you look at both models. I don't see them making two different transmissions

A base model will not feature the paddle shift option, it still uses the dct tranny but will only have the totaly auto mode!!!

I was bored so I took some screen caps from the Honda website. The only 1000 model without paddle shifters is the base 1000-3. The base 1000-5 DOES show paddle shifters. This is also represented in the spec sheet on Hondas website. Now they could have the picture wrong but it would be a big coincidence for the spec sheet and pic to be wrong. Who knows, they could change it I guess..I wish they would give the full specs of the different models so we dont have to guess!

1000-5 base model:

1k5 base

1000-5 DLX model:

1k5 dlx

1000-3 base model:

1k3 base

1000-3 EPS model:

1k3 eps

Yes, Only the base model SxS1000m3 is... well.. base. meaning NO paddle shift, no Power steering.
Both the m5's have paddle sifters. And the m3-EPS

@sthomp54, still trying to verify everything.. But I "think" so.. Cant seem to find a 100% yes.
YES to tilt.
Questioning EPS?

Tilt Wheel
One size never fits all—that’s why the all-new Pioneer 1000-5 gets a tilt wheel to let you find a position that’s right for you. It also makes getting in and out easier for the driver.

Electric Power Steering
Electric Power Steering helps eliminate bump steer and lessens steering effort, especially over rocks, logs and on sidehills. Honda’s system is second to none. You get more boost when you need it, when you’re in four-wheel drive, at lower speeds and in rough conditions.

I stand corrected on my post, hondaprokevin has a chart posted that shows the base p-5 having eps, paddle shifting and all switchable modes, might be a better buy than 1000eps-3 that way who knows at this point but can't wait to try one out. Hopefully soon we wil be getting all the specs right here on hondasxs iam shure we will, good work administrator!!!

The honda website also shows the load leveling suspension as an option for the P3, Also notice how the rear suspension does not travel through the upper a-arms like the 700 but in front of it.

A tiny hic-cup on the 2016 P1000 manual spec page (246)... the SXS1000M3 length is 116.8", not 156.2" (the MM are correct).
As I said, a very small detail.
