Guess I am looking at another project. Not sure I need another one but this was in a barn out my back door. Actually drove the PK5 to pick it up down the road.
Hoping to get it to run. 85 model big red.

as you may know - never ever take your feet off the pegs, ran my leg over many times trying to steer those things in the 80's...

Thanks for the advice. No plans not to use the foot pegs lol. It was my dads cousins. The only memories I have of it was in 87 I killed my first buck on the creek of our farm. We used it to haul it out and the buck slide down and the antler punctured the rear wheel. Going to be fun trying to get it back to running.

We went through it today. Going to order battery, oil, filter, air filter, and spark plug. Thinking it’s hopefully a diamond in the rough.

this was about 30 minutes of cleaning on the fuel tank.

Good find!👍 Is that is the original seat!!!???
Silver- here a few pics of the seat. Little wet rags and some armor all. You can see the only flaws in the rear of the seat. A chunk missing and a run line and below the rub line is a little loose area of fabric. Outside of that it is pretty solid. Think it is original seat. Have no reason to think not.

The Big Red was awesome.
Easy to ride, torque like a tractor (compared to the 2 strokes I favored).
And very capable.
No extra BS like an extraneous 4th wheel.

Leverage 3wheelerworld.com for info and a line on parts.

One thing I am missing is the side plastic panel on the right side. The one that goes over or around the kick starter. If anyone has any leads on one pm me. If we can get it to run, I will be looking for one. Thanks.

Well it’s getting cleaner. Excited to put it back together. This coming weekend planning to paint all the racks, change oil, spark plug, air filter, and front tire. But the plastics turned out pretty good. If anyone can locate a right side panel (OEM) I may be interested.

New spark plug, air filter, oil/filter, and rear diff oil she is running. Push start just getting a click at the selenoid. Kick start got here running.
After a few she didn’t let out on rev. It will rev down sometimes but hold rpm’s fir extended time. I could pull on throttle cable housing and it would have some affect on rpm’s. Not sure if carb needs cleaned or replace a throttle cable. Any suggestions? Carb cleaning may be outside my expertise lol.

congrats, you got this far and have fire, so imo, the carb cleaning would be next....

watch some youtube videos if you are unfamiliar, it is not so bad and just cleaning the jets/passages/slide.....you will also be able to see if throttle cable is working as well.

id squirt some penetrating down all the cables as well

also look for cracked, dry rotted rubber boots that clamp to the carb, I have a 99 wolverine in the garage that got dropped off, rubber boot to intake has holes in it - weird

Update- the new starter fixed the push start troubles. Been touching up frame paint. Carb is last thing I plan to do. Working to get it back together. It’s in several pieces. Bought some seals and reworked front forks. New fluid and fresh look. Now just piecing it back together. Work and a dang respiratory deal has hindered much work. Pretty happy with the front forks. Before and after.
