I'm considering purchasing a 2016 Honda Pioneer 1000-5. However during my test drive I noticed that it was shifting at high RPMs (around 7000) going into 3rd and 4th gear. It was almost like the unit would slip into neutral for half a second, shoot the RPMs up and then would shift. Other than that everything else was great. I've heard of clutch issues on these machines but considering 3rd and 4th are on different clutches and from what I've read the 2,4,6 clutch rarely has issues, is this a sign of a burnt clutch or would there be a different cause? The machine has 3600 miles and 600 hrs. Would doing the clutch relearning procedure be a good thing to try and see if it corrects the issue? Any guidance is much appreciated.
