Well after two days and a hundred miles I kinda like it. Wrench light is on now for service. Wife asked me this evening while riding "Don't you slow down anymore for rough spots" I said no and grinned.

I don't care for the tires yet but I guess I'll get used to it. Junk a$$ Bighorns and I never figured why they are so highly rated by people. I'd rather have the Blackstones that come on the regular 1000-3 EPS. Anyway they are kinda rough over 50 mph.

Getting used to power steering. Getting used to the 6 speed transmission. I love turf mode. Kinda like it and now I'm getting better at letting off when coming to a stop. I don't use brakes much on the 700 or 500 so I've got the hang of it on the 1000 just about.

Turned a hundred miles this evening and when I dropped the wife off I tested a couple things. The hill assist button or whatever the heck that thing is works. You have to press the brake firmly and press a button on the dash and a light comes on. Let off the brake and it blinks. It will only hold for 5 seconds then you start rolling backwards. Less than five it it just goes.

I tried all the modes in the transmission so I know what they will do. Best thing is the auto transmission and being able to override and downshift with the paddles. I had used them in the first 100 miles. I'm used to the paddles in the 500.

I will give any more help that I can and the understorage compartment is the bomb and anyone with a 1000 or 700 should order one. Wow it is the best.

It was a pretty fast hundred miles without a windshield. Darn bugs and cheeks pinned back at times and eyes watering. Oh well windshield and bikini (bimini) top and midpanel and mirrors and rear bumper should be in this week.

Glad you like it.. high sport mode or low manual is what I find myself
Riding in depending on terrain. High turf for cruising and road riding.

I read all about the heat coming through the shifter. I haven't noticed it much. It's hard to tell in this photo but here is a cover under the hood in front of shifter.

I have been trying different modes also. I have been using High Sport mode and up shifting with paddles. Its sweet that it down shifts on its own.
I think it shifts to soon on High Auto mode. Its seams to me it shifts alot in high auto.

Not sure what you're picture is but the 17s have a new deflector in front of the dash that does a very good job preventing the heat coming through the dash. I couldn't understand why my 17 didn't have this same problem until I found the new deflector part (it interfered with a lift kit I wanted to install).

294 miles now and it's still an interesting piece of equipment. Transmission is a piece of work but I'm never happy cause thing still runs more RPM's at 45 mph in high than I like.

It redlines at 8k, you're fine it takes a bit of getting used to, it's just a rev happy high rpm motor.

Thanks ohanacreek. I guess I'll just let it rip. Still can't figure out why it needs to turn almost 6000 rpm to go 50 down the road. Noisy whining thing sounds like a motorcycle lol.

So now that I have 701 miles on it and 373 miles in the Hatfield Mccoy area I have several thoughts and out of those 373 miles about 125 or so were traveling on roads getting here and there. The other 248 or so on 3 trail systems, Buffalo Mountain, Devil's Anse and Rockhouse. Awesome riding and covered green and blue trails.

I can write alot about my thoughts on this machine but here is the #1 thing. In low range the engine braking is phenomenal when descending hills. I can't say enough about this thing after you learn the throttle peddle. I will post other thoughts around the board and I took a few pictures.

The I-4wd in this thing rocks. Throw it in that and ride with confidence up or down hill. No need for the Hill assist bs button in this thing though I have tried it.

Pretty sure that part is on both the 2016 and the 2017.
Hi. Thanks, it could be. I need to look and see if I have the deflector that others have posted. I just don't get much heat through the shifter.
