Hey guys. New to the forum. In the market for a new Pioneer 1000-5. I've got a quite of 16038.xx out the door from Abernathy's in Union City Tennessee. I am from around Columbus Ohio, and really don't want to make the haul down if I don't have to, but I can't seem to get a dealer around here to come within 1000-1500 dollars. I think somewhere between 16,200 and 16400 out the door would be fair enough, afterall I'm coming back for service, parts, etc. You would think a local guy would be more motivated to sell me one then someone that far away.

My question is, what's reasonable for a new one? Are they really giving these away at 16,1? I can't swallow 17,500 for one when someone 6 hours away is willing to treat me that much better.

Thanks in advance!

I too drove 6 hours to TN to buy mine. Local dealers around Charlotte NC could not come within 2 grand of TN pricing.
I regret not buying locally. But come on, they got to be able to do better the MSPR +$ +$ +$.

I'm from Columbus area and drive to Wauseon, Ohio for all of my needs. Championship Powersports are fantastic to deal with and saved me a lot over any local dealers. I had Ride One tell me to go buy it up there when I talked to them about my pioneer. They are Honda, Yamaha, KTM, Husqvarna, Beta and now Alta dealer. They are off road only, no street bikes other than KTM. 888-647-4714 or 419-335-8600. Talk to either Jim. One is owner and other is primary salesman.

Unfortunately some dealers feel like they can demand top dollar and get it. I had to drive two hours, and go past two Honda dealers to buy mine at a friendly dealer. I was able to buy my P1K-3, with a Honda hard roof, a Honda hard windshield, a Honda hard back window, a Warn 4500# winch and a 6' Moose snow plow, all installed, for the same "BEST PRICE" I could get around here.

Good luck. When you do get one...….. you're going to love it!!!!

Wait till the 2019’s are available and a few 2018’s are still in Honda Warehouses. Honda will offer deep discounts to dealers to move them and if you get a friendly dealer you can get some of that discount if not all of it.

Same I drove to abernathy and saved significant money, but I never use dealers for work and never buy warranties because I think they are a scam.

In WV paid $16,944 OTD. About $950 of that was WV sales tax. That is for a 2018 1000-5 Deluxe Red. No add ons.

Did you find anything out?

I did! I got a dealer here within an hour of Columbus to sell me one for 16,400 out the door. I was looking at prices from last fall and I think they are pretty close to what they are blowing then out for in Tennessee now. I hate to miss the entire riding season to save a couple hundred bucks anyhow.

I feel pretty good about that price. Unfortunately I did not get to check out that dealership in wauseon before I pulled the plug on it. I figure within 400 bucks was close enough to skip the drive though.

Thanks for all the feedback. Stoked about the new machine!

Sounds great. I'm just southwest of Columbus. What area do you live in?

We love ours and will be planning another trip to Perry apv within a week.

Well I'm currently up in the Hilliard/Dublin area, but home is probably closer to you (Sidney, Ohio).

What is the Perry apv? We have only recently started riding off our land and haven't really ventured outside of Hatfield McCoy. Once to Rush OffRoad, but that'll be our first and last trip down there I think. Really nice people, but wasnt very well marked or maintained as compared.

Just looked this up. It says no machines wider than 62 inches... Do they give you any issues with your 1000, or do you take smaller machines typically?
