An no problems on a completely reworked and much stronger frame. You are helping prove my suspicions.

AND I beat the crap out of my Talon probably more than most here. I definitely stress those sway bar mounts! I had a feeling when I was building it that I was doing the right thing by cutting all the stock stuff off back there.

My buddy has a 19 R model with the same swaybar and runs it in the same position we do. He races XC but his frame is still 100% stock. I sent him the pictures you posted and told him to check his when he gets a chance. I'll report back when I hear from him...

Just heard back from him. My buddy said his frame is fine but another guy he races with that has a Talon had his frame break in the exact same spots on both sides. That guy also runs an Eibach sway bar. I'm starting to see a trend here...

It's also probably the one some of you remember seeing. My buddy said the pictures were posted a while ago in a FB group. He's going to send me the link if he finds it. I don’t FB so I'm of no help there.

Just got her all fixed up this past weekend thanks to one of my moto riding buddies.

We used a floor jack and ratchet strap to line things up.

After welding the broken frame tube, my buddy cut some sections of DOM tubing to brace the previous broken section. He did this for the remaining 3 cracked tubes.

Threads like this make me happy that my big brother is a welder by trade AND he also operates his own mobile welding business.

After removing the sway bar, I noticed that the mount had started to crack on the passenger side. This is what my buddy came up with to strengthen the sway bar mounts. He positioned the added support tube forward of any trailing arm travel.

Then he cut some 3/16" plate to triangulate this section.

Everything was done equally to both sides.

I noticed some paint stress in these corners so a couple more plates were made up.

I also asked my buddy to modify my KFI hitch receiver since it's much stronger than the Dragonfire receiver that was a bolt on with the DRF bed extender/spare carrier.

Always good to be able to call in a favor when you really need it and want it done right. While I've welded a (very) little bit before, I wouldn't have been comfortable trying this repair on my own. I hope to be able to change that soon though.

Forgot about this thread..... My buddy with the previously uncracked stock frame had his crack just like all the other ones pictured here a few weeks ago.

Show him my pics, hopefully he knows how to weld or has a good friend that does!

One of my options was to go through my insurance to have the frame replaced but then I'd still have a new frame that would need reinforcing. Another would have been to find a fabricator willing to fix things they way I wanted, only one person got back to me and the conversation wasn't too confidence inspiring. My buddy was my best option but I had to wait a bit for him to be available. For me, it was worth the wait.

I just got mine back from fab shop. I sheered off the sway bar pad that took part of one of the tubes as well. Stock frame with the Eibach bar and they do give you a good mounts. The frame shop said it was a sheer not a slow bend. It was in an off road desert race and the way it beat up the pipe and area around it must have sheered early in the race as I did not see it till I broke and new bead lock wheel that I was changing it. Sorting out what will take the racing. Picture is after the fix. If you are running that hard check your front upper A arms. They are a weak point and you will see the upper arm bends up. Was a bummer I really like the course.
