I was about to start a thread! Best parts are... Wider, engine moved to rear so reduced heat, longer suspension, and TURF MODE!!! Im definitely going to test drive one when they come out with a different color xt max... It’s still 13 ft long in the 4 seater, which will most likely be a deal breaker for me, but they are nice!

Canams have a great cvt system. The belt slip sensor works very well. In high if you get in a bind and it starts to slip, it kills power and a light blinks telling you to switch to low... Yamahas is best IMO... Polaris and Kawasaki no comment... I hated my brute force cvt though... I just don’t want a limousine!! I can work with the rest... That’s the reason I have the p1000-5, it is perfect! I just like trying new stuff. The Yamaha rmax is just too expensive to not have a turf mode! I really like the new Teryx 4 S... New longer suspension, wider, but doesn’t have a turf mode...

The thing that caught my eye was the price: starts at just under $17k compared to $19 for the Rmax. My only real complaint with the Yamaha is it seems a bit pricey...

But then you see that the base model gets the viso-lok thingy, and to get an actual locking diff you have to step up to the smart lock or whatever, which requires the $22,000 model. An entire company exists from making a locking front diff for can am. You'd think that'd be a clue.

You can get the smart lock as an accessory. Build one on the site. I think it was $1500 extra maybe. I don’t ever need a locker, and the visco lock works ok with stockish tires... Problem is it’s a clutch type locker, and larger tires wear it out quick... I would just do an aftermarket locker myself when the need arose...

I think a halo locker is like $1100 (if they make one for it). And I thought I saw a @SuperATV something the other day for under $1000.

That thing looks like a dodge neon of sxs. I honestly think everyone is afraid to admit the rmax is what we all wanted when we got or p1000k.....I know mine is up for sale.
So you're saying you don't like the looks? I thought that was probably its best quality...

Doubt it. Most people buy the Honda because they don't want a belt driven machine or a trail limo. RMax is cool, but still a belt drive and an expensive one at that.

Curious, the Torque Locker(?) for the P500 is <$500 and the new Talon locker from that company is projected to be in that neighborhood too.

Yamaha offers a 10yr belt warranty that they actually back. Honda will void your warranty if you drive through a deep puddle.....I can carry a extra belt and swap in 30min. Can't carry a extra trans nor swap clutches in minutes on the trail. If the transmission is the only selling point of a honda than its clearly not in the same class. Also there size is about the same

I'd be willing to bet that Yamaha would also deny warranty coverage if they can prove it was due to water ingestion. The Pioneer having a transmission is definitely a big selling point. So much so that Honda decided they should plaster it all over the 2021 models with those dumb stickers on the front fenders and on the hood/doors of the Talons. Different strokes for different folks, enjoy your Rmax.
