Hello all,
I've got an issue (possibly self-inflicted) on one of our 2022 Pioneer 1000's. The ignition fuse blows immediately after turning the ignition switch on. This is happening after the main battery was dead and we were attempting to charge it. I turned the amperage up on the charger and not long after that there was a clicking/buzzing noise coming from somewhere on the machine, and now the ignition fuse blows all the time. We will continue to diagnose, just digging around to see if anyone has had a similar issue. Thanks.

The IGN fuse only directly feeds 2 things

The display and ignition relay

You could try unplugging the meter first, see if the fuse blows. If it does, then try unplugging the ignition relay and check the fuse again.

The ignition relay powers alot of things, so it might be difficult after that.

I’ve read that jump starting a p1k with an alternator system vehicle while it’s running can do damage to the p1ks system. Is that a true statement and if so could that be what blew his ign relay?

Ive always been told not to have a vehicle running to jump start any powersports machine.

But it seems he was using a charger and maybe it was too much amperage.

It shouldn't matter how much current the charger can provide, the vehicle will only draw what is necessary, not the full available current. The battery in a vehicle is able to provide 100 amps or more, but the vehicle won't draw anywhere that amount, with the exception of the starter motor, and that causes no issues under normal conditions.
That being said, if something is wrong with the vehicle that may cause it to draw too much current, such as a short in a battery or some other circuit, that could be bad.
