Have 27000 miles on it and the Allison transmission is super smooth.
The "Allison" badge is just marketing bullsh1t, GM kept the rights to the name/badging when they sold the Allison division back in '07. The 10 speed they use now is a Ford designed 10R140/AB1V built in-house. Any GM truck w an Allison badge after 2014 has an in-house built trans. That said, the 10 Speed is an awesome transmission!

yea I got a notice also. The dealer wont even do anything with it, i know there is a software push as a stop gap measure but they didn't even do that.

not to derail this thread any further but mine went in for DEFsystem service and asked them to complete the software update which they said they would... DEF system -looks like a new tank and wire harness this time (last time was DEF injector) tank is supposedly 1 week out (they did give me a rental to drive and it will be covered under powertrain warranty) Absolutely love this truck tho.

What's this recall? Have any of you fellas chipped/tuned the engine?
No chip/tune. Also mine is the 3.0 baby dmax. Not sure if there is any real chip/tune options available. Being still under warranty I am not willing to risk even if available. As far as recalls ALL brands have issues choose your poison.

Ok, I asked about chips and tunes because some were saying that is why the 10 speed would fail. It can handle the stock hp and torque just fine.

I have a banks derringer and pedal monster, hardly use the derringer really and keep the the pedal monster set pretty low. I really just wanted the idash for the ability to track regens and read/clear codes, but then went down a rabbit hole...

At least you can get a derringer for yours..... Us Ford idiots can't. It has been "in development" since 2020
I have 2 idash sitting in a box waiting to take delivery of my truck.

The 10 speed in the baby Dmax is the K variant(mid-level), the only similarities with the AB1V (HD version) the the number of speeds 😄

Well other than the recall! Which does include the HD version.

Switch out the gold bow tie for a black bow tie. Every thing now blends together up front. Also had the windows tinted, a must have here in Florida.
