Friend welded a bucket and I did a DIY modification with a plow attachment on my atv (pre SxSs in 1998). Useful for small chores like you said. Raise, lower and dump with a winch. Later replaced vertical hold-up bar/latch with swinging legs at pivot bolt. Legs would hold the bucket up for dumping when spooling out, and swing to the rear when scooping. A fun project.
