I contacted ITP tire and asked if 26-11-12 tires will fit OK on my Honda 520 7" OEM rear rims. I got a voice mailbox and asked the question and figured it would be up to a couple of days to get a call. The fellow called about 30 min. later and told me al of their tires are designed to fit 7" rims. I had left an email message after I left the voice message. I got an email a half hour ago stating I needed a 10" wide rim for safety and proper wear. WTH?
I ordered the tires yesterday from Rocky MTN. ATV. I ordered 26-9-12 Terracross for the front and 26-11-12 for the rear.
Anyone else running 26-11-12 tires on their stock rims?

The Terracross tires mounted. They have 10 psi for now.

Just fitted 26x9-12 (front) and 26x11-12 (rear) on my P500's stock 7x12 (5+2) rims. No rubbing on chassis, stock suspension. Right on 50" width so I can still (just!) ride on our forest park trails. After two weeks of riding gravel roads, climbing rock faces and wading through mud and rivers, 9 psi has proved to be the optimum tire pressure for comfortable ride, predictable handling and impressive traction in most conditions. The greater ground clearance enables my P500 to get to places in 2WD that previously it would struggle to reach in 4WD.

One downside - mud now flies forward from the rear tires and sticks to the side-mount mirrors. Not a major concern ... easily fixed with mud guard extensions.

The new 26"tires are SUNF A-033 6-ply - very similar to Maxxis Bighorn only more affordable ($760 NZD versus $1420 NZD for set of four tires).
