If your wanting to stay at 50” thats gonna be a tall order. Cuz large tires will help but get u too wide and spacers help and will do the same.I am purchasing the 520 because I need to keep the unit to 50" to fit the trails but would love to get some better stability out of it. What do you recommend? Is that possible?
i figured it would be tough but was hoping there were a few options out there. I need to be able to fit through the 50" gates at the parks. If your wanting to stay at 50” thats gonna be a tall order. Cuz large tires will help but get u too wide and spacers help and will do the same.
Maybe some other p5’s will have a solution for ya
If u measure your rig now, your close if not there? Been a while since Ive owned a P5. U can buy different tires fo sho but to accomplish what your asking is a tall task. Almost all of the 50" gates that I have been through, were wider than 50".Measure some of those gates for actual widths. Sometimes they're wider in actuality.

I have 26" Bighorns with no spacers. No problem getting through all 50" gates in my area.
And actually makes it worse. 26" BH's on stock wheels and no spacers was a pucker fest! 1" spacers will put you at about 52 1/4" IIRC and that was doable. 5+2's will put you at about 54 +/- . Like Futz said, chances are good you'll get through the gates anyway. This does not help the stability issue question of the OP.
Unless you're running a wider offset wheel than stock . . .
I had a Pioneer 500 for 5 years, on the OEM Rims I installed 26x9x12 Roctane XD tires day one and stayed OEM width. In the years since I found TUSK Trilobyte Tires which are Bighorn 2 copies at half the price, these tires do run small diameter wise. For the P500 they offer the 26X10X12 for rear and 26X9X12 for the front and should remain OEM width. These tires perform well all around and ride & wear good too.I am purchasing the 520 because I need to keep the unit to 50" to fit the trails but would love to get some better stability out of it. Sit in the middle, drive slow, and on level terrain. I mean its a 418cc shopping cart after all.Same width, taller tire? How does this improve stability? Since the man asked . . .

Slightly stiffer sidewall tires than OEM will affect the perceived tippyness
1" spacers add enough stability? Honestly, is the stability stock that bad? I just want to cruise around on the 50" trails here. I had a p1000-4 in white a few years ago when i lived in CO. I loved that thing but i moved for work and couldnt take it with me. Now i am itching to do something again but i no longer have the big truck, toy hauler and all that to mess around with a big pioneer so the p520 seemed perfect. I do like to hill climb a bit, nothing major just some light fun. If i cant get through the gates it would be for nothing. If most gates are a bit wider than 50" that would be awesome. And actually makes it worse. 26" BH's on stock wheels and no spacers was a pucker fest! 1" spacers will put you at about 52 1/4" IIRC and that was doable. 5+2's will put you at about 54 +/- . love the bumblebee look! I didnt get a p520 yet. Exploring. I had the p1000-4 a couple years back but had to sell when i moved. Looking to find a small machine to cruise around in locally without going out and getting a tow rig again and all that for a bigger machine. If u measure your rig now, your close if not there? P1000-5 . Good point, i wonder why they didnt do a turf mode on it.Never seen a P1000-4🤔🤣
Word for the wise though if you’re thinking about getting something smaller to just cruise around locally and remember P 500 and P5 20 and I believe the P7 do not have turf mode so being on concrete blacktop things like that you’re in diff lock and can tear up tires quickly in those conditions
